Over the Thanksgiving holiday we visited the Springer's in Beaverton Oregon to share in the holiday feasting and family togetherness. We decided to go on a hike in a small walking park by the house where Aubrey and Garrett were born. We walked around the small park once, and decided to go around one more time. About 20 minutes later we came back to our car and found the passenger side window smashed in and my diaper bag taken. We were shocked and distressed but felt so blessed because I hadn't put my planner (which is also my wallet and has all my reiceipts, it is my life!!) in my bag as I always so, and Scott's phone and wallet were inches from where they grabbed the bag in the center console. So despite feeling rather violated and inconvienced because we would now have to get the window fixed we were quite pleased it wasn't worse. The kids were very upset, especally Aubrey. It was scary to see our car window smashed in and know that a "robber" had been in our car. So we told them how funny it would be when the "robber" opened the diaper bag and didn't find any money, just diapers. So when the police came Aubrey runs up to him and in her best, most animated voice says, "that robber is going to be so mad, he's going to open the bag and there is not going to be any gold or jewels, just diapers; isn't that so funny."

Way to make the best of the situation.
This picture was taken in August at Aubrey's gymnastic competition. About one month before Layton was born (thus Scott was instructed to take the picture from the chest up =)
