Fourth of July

Camping for the 4th of July with our Friends the Cudney's and then the Sweeney's (for one day). We camped on Lake Roosevelt in a remote campground only accessible by boat. The campsite was great, with camping kitchen and toilet provided by the ever prepared and experienced campers, the Cudneys. Highlights were the 3 foot long snake found curled up in 10 year old Reagan's sleeping bag. The sand city that Aubrey created, the water level rising 4-5 feet every morning until the last morning we were literally standing ankle deep in water cooking pancakes. Scott skiing the water skiing course perfectly, he's 40 but still got it! Watching fireworks in the boat. Trying to awaken Dalyn to watch the fireworks to no avail. Garrett learning the game "Peon" and wanting to hang out with his friends 24/7 (ahh so it begins). Scott snorkeling in the murky water for the lost flipper. Spending time with good friends! But I have to say the best was coming home to a warm shower and my own bed. Nothing like camping to help us appreciate the simple luxuries of life!
